It seems that sometimes Linux needs a little help on knowing what equipment you have. I have found that if you have tiny or extremely large text on programs, it might be because of an incorrect DPI setting for your personal equipment. You can check this out by playing around with the xrandr commands.
For HiDPI, you can try the following command followed by a reset of the program or maybe relog your session: sudo xrandr --dpi 140
NOTE: This will only help you get the correct DPI settings. I am still looking for instructions to get this change permanent.
NOTE: For PopOS this could be taken care of by going to Appearance > Fonts > Uncheck "Custom DPI Setting"
