At PeppermintOS Boot Menu, hit the TAB key and you will be pesented with a command line, you want to replace the following:

    quiet splash —

    with

    debug — forcepae

Replacing quet splash with debug has the OS reporting on screen what it is doing. Adding the forcepae tells the OS to boot without requiring the processor to be PAE compliant.

NOTE: This allowed me to boot and install PeppermintOS 6 and 10 (at different times) on Pentium 4 3.4 (800MHz FSB) and Atom N270 netbooks.
